FAQ

What is the Release Time?

The term "release" refers to the Customs authority’s approval allowing goods that have undergone the required Customs procedures to be placed at the disposal of the concerned party.

Release Time refers to the estimated average time difference between the arrival of goods at the port of entry and their release under various Customs procedures. These procedures include, but are not limited to, import for domestic consumption (IM4), transit (TR8), and other applicable Customs regimes.

This metric also measures the time required to complete the main Customs clearance steps, such as the submission of the import declaration, assessment of duties and taxes, physical inspection of goods (if applicable), and final release.
